The item was received in a short amount of time (1 week). Both boxes came together. The FedEx dropped them like hot rocks at the garage door and skedaddled! Didn't even say Hello! There was one small rip in one of the boxes, but it appeared to be from catching on something and there was no damage to the product itself in shipping and all parts were there. Everything was boxed and secured tightly. There were snips of Rattan that fell out of the box, but it was not due to the merchandise falling apart. This was clearly production residue. Instructions were enclosed on the back side of the nuts, screws, glove, and wrench package. Instruction pictures are good, and it takes about 15 minutes per part (my time with no rush). I really never really READ instructions, so they had me with the pictures! Parts are marked clearly and there appears to be one spare nut, bolt and washer for each size. I took my time assembling this in the garage and I used a drill with the proper bit. You can use the tools provided, but "Tim the Toolman" here wasn't having any of that. I stripped two bolts when they got down to the end--too much power, but they are in and in tight! All pillows inflated immediately after opening and got fairly fluffy but will flatten quickly when you sit on them. If you lean fully back, you will be able to feel the back of the chair at your kidney height in your back through the pillow. A set of normal throw pillows will help this, while adding a little "pop" to the decor. Height from the ground to the top of the rattan chair bottom (where you would place the seat cushion) is approximately 14 inches. Sadly, after two days, my seat cushions where all only 1-inch tall. I hit them with a blow dryer and "boom" they quickly puffed up to full-size. I have no idea why I thought of that, but it worked and worked fast! From the ground to the top of seat cushion height is now 17" without screwing down height adjustment screw legs at the bottom. Overall height from the ground to the top of the arm rest on the end chair (or the seat backs) measured 25.5 inches. The material (fabric) looks similar to parachute material. My fabric had a slight pink tint to it outdoors, but it did not show under normal household light. It is water resistant and beads quickly. The fabric looks like it would hold up well to human sitting and dry quickly. The cushions do slip some, but I added some non-slip material under the cushions, similar to what you would put in your cupboard, and that was that. The Rattan material is rubber like, not wooden or brittle, but very flexible. I think this is a good thing, since my last patio set cracked up after three years. The bottom height adjusters are on plastic mounts. These are the bottom pieces that look like metal--they are not! The adjuster screws spin easily and extend approximately 1/2 inch safely (bolt not being out too far). With the proper cushion height, and 1/2-inch adjustment, the furniture sits (seating height) approximately 17.5" from the ground to the top of the cushions and makes a great seat. On another note, I live in a rainy area, so for those who worry about pillows soaking up water, DO NOT RIP YOUR PLASTIC PACKAGING UP. Try cutting the shrunken cushion plastic bag straight and carefully down the sealed end. Once opened it will accommodate the expanded cushion inserts, so you can put the cushion inserts in the plastic bag and place it in the cover. This works for both the seat cushion and the pillow cushions and will give the ultimate protection against water intrusion. Yes, it may get the plastic rattle, but you are outside, so it doesn't really matter! I tested it the other day, and it works! Don't forget, you will need to cut some slits for the buttons on the seat backs, but that is easy enough. All in all, this is a great product, and it looks very nice. I am very happy with this purchase and the price for what you get. Hopefully, my shipment and satisfaction are not rarities. I recommend the product and vendor.
