Works well, durable, easy to clean. We put it on our desk and over time it has beco.e wavy in areas and is not a perfect rectangleNot a bad product at all for the price but it’s been weeks and I still have problems with the edges every now and then. I blow dried the edges with heat and then put a heavy book on top and that mostly worked, but it was a pain in the ass.This was my review the day that I bought it. I gave the product one star on that day.I received it. It was rolled up like a roll of wallpaper. It was not easy to unroll. After unrolling, the ends keep curling under after placed on the desk. It was a cheap plastic that looked really bad laying on the desk. It was warped. It was easily to notice that it was a really bad choice for a protective pad. It was not really a pad, just unrolled plastic. Most desk pads are flat to begin with and curled up to go in a box to ship. They immediately try to reclaim their form once removed from packing. This plastic was not made to be flat it was made to curl up into a roll. Therefore anytime that you try to flatten it out, it tries to reassume the roll.This is my second review of the product. This is after three days and I have bumped it to three stars.I am still not extremely impressed with the product, but after laying on my desk for a three days with items on the desk. The plastic is beginning to look a lot better. It still has some wrinkles, but at this point it is acceptable. I have canceled my return because I have decided it looks good enough to keep. I will give it a little more time and try to add another review after a week. I am definitely going to have to cut the plastic to get a better fit. I measured my desk and it was 28 x 54 inches. There is a little over hang that needs to be trims, maybe somewhere between quarter and half inch. I left the first review above mainly so people might not freak out the first day that they try to put it on their desk."Slight plastic smell" is an understatement. It's comically smelly, to be honest. It's the same smell of a new bathroom shower curtain, but 5x worse and doesn't go away.I tried everything. Washed it with soap and water at least (no exaggeration) ten times, each side. I tried vinegar. I tried to let it air outside for three days straight. I literally shower with it hanging over the glass, so that as I shower water runs over the plastic in a failed attempt to remove even a little of the smell.A week later and it's still strong. It's actually impressive.The smell makes it so that I won't use it in the house. Maybe I can put it in a table outside? I'll need a buy a table for outside...As others have said, it does have issues staying flat too, but I would tape it down flat to solve that. But this smell. I can't think with this smell. You might think I'm being hyperbolic, and I would too if I read this review. But as it stands now, I'm gonna throw this thing back outside and come back after a month.Update: The smell is unbelievably still present. Maybe worse. It's absolutely astounding. It's been over a month. I've washed it countless times. It was leeching the smell outside. And yet I brought it inside and it smelled up an entire room in no time. I literally could smell it pouring out from one room into the next through a closed door, with only the crack in the bottom allowing the smell to escape. This thing is a marvel. I can't leave it inside so now I'm going to find a table or something outside for it? I don't know. At this point, it's such an astounding story that I can't just toss it. This thing will continue to smell when humans leave the Earth. But don't buy it and put it in your dining room.This item was clearly returned by a previous customer. It has been wiped down, and dried wipe marks all over it. Also, it still had food remnants or something dried on it that had to be scrubbed off. Also, the original return slip with the customer's name, home address, and phone number was still in the sealed box, which means this company has very poor quality control and did not inspect the product before sending it out to another customer (me!). What's worse, it was returned recently, which means it was purchased, used, and not cleaned well, before being returned by another customer, then being sent to me in the midst of a pandemic. I was also disappointed to discover that despite my careful measurements of my dining table, and expecting to only have to cut 2 inches off of one end, I actually had to cut various parts of all sides to get an actual rectangular shape that fit my table. Therefore, their posted sizes are not accurate, and it is not evenly cut to begin with.I have searched for several years to find something to protect my beautiful wood dining table that is aquiring marks and scratches over years of use, and several moves. Not to mention, the table will be a place where school work is done each day now, so I need something to protect it from more than normal use. This item had good reviews, so I went for it. Given the size of my table, it was a very expensive piece of plastic to arrive to me the way it did. Thankfully I was able to clean it up, blow-dry the ripples out, and shape it nicely to my tabletop with the proper cuts. Although I cleaned it up and made it work, I am extremely disappointed at the lack of quality control, and am not likely to purchase from this company again in the future.I bought this for our 42" table. They were out of stock of the length we needed, so I ended up buying the 44"x96" (I only needed 42". Our table has two 1' leaves so I wanted to have an extra section cut to add when the leaves are in. It was really easy to cut to length. We have a 7 year old who also will be doing her school work from home so we wanted a place to sit with her and not worry about a pen or marker leaving a mark on the table. This is the perfect solution. Even my husband commented on the thickness when we were cutting it. Very impressed! I love the look of the stain of our table so I also wanted something that was see through and didn't hide the beauty. Perfect solution. And it was easy to clean up after dinner. Wipes down very easily. Worth it!
