This coffee table was a great buy and looks nice put together. The top lifts up nicely and takes some effort to put back down, so I'm confident it won't accidentally go down while I'm using it. The finish is nice and has a woodgrain pattern to it. Overall, it wasn't much more difficult to put together than a typical Ikea purchase, but the instructions could have been clearer since they were only pictures. The whole thing was pretty easy to put together on my own except for putting the top on. I ended up propping the top up on the far side so I could screw the hinges into the table, which was difficult because the holes weren't fully drilled-in so it took a good amount of pressure to get them in. The table does slide a bit when you pull up the top if it's on a hard floor, but that shouldn't be a problem with carpet underneath. I do recommend getting felt furniture pads to put on the feet if you aren't immediately putting it on a rug because the bottom of the feet are rough and have nothing to protect them or the floor.I Absolutely love this table. They say you can put it together in about 30 minutes but it took me longer than that but I have to admit it was fun putting it together. It really was. It looks really good in my bedrooms retreat area and I'm thinking about getting another for my family room. We eat most of our meals in front of the television and we use TV dinner trays. but not only can you store a lot of knick knacks inside of this and underneath it but when you raise the top it is the perfect level for you to sit down in front of the television and enjoy a meal the factors room for two or three family members sitting on a sofa the baby to eat on it and then put it back down when you're down when you're done.That's a lot faster and more convenient than having to bring in TV trays and then put them back in Finished. And it's also an attractive piece of furniture that will match almost any decor.Instructions are great. You are eased into the assembly with steps 1-4. Step 5 a little more challenging; I had to undo and fix once I saw how they'd fit. Step 6 a breeze! Step 7 (assembling the spring riser) is where the full body workout comes in and it is a doozy. Have patience (and a cordless drill), and you'll have a really nice little coffee table! NOTE - as others have mentioned, there are 4 missing holes (2 on each side, step 7) but easy to drill through the laminate with the screws provided.I mean it was hard for me to assemble because I'm assembly challenged with any piece of furniture, but let's say I got it figure it out so that's a start. It looks very nice and very sturdy. The only thing I noticed is when I lift the top up its a bit wiggly where one side goes up faster than the other. Could be user error honestly. Other than that it's nice furnitureWe love this table. The assembly was a process, but it wasn't the hardest piece of furniture I've put together. The proportions are not drawn to scale, making it difficult to figure out what side you are working with. Having a friend to help align the parts of the table is helpful for the last few steps.After initial assembly, this table rocks. It holds a lot more weight than I anticipated, and looks nice.Items like these usually come with a one-pager on how to put it together. This table came with a full, clear set of instructions for each section of the table , which made it very easy to do alone. Only one section is very difficult to do alone and that is the lift top section - impossible to screw in the bars (too heavy) without help or a proper drill.It took my daughter about an hour and a half to assemble, looks great. Except one corner was slightly damaged and I am sure this happened during shipping. They did not have that piece on hand but gave a slight refund. Otherwise happy with table.It was a little difficult to put together but I managed and it looks really nice and is sturdy. But you will definitely need a cordless drill and something to hold the top up when you install the bracketsBought as a gift. Very durable and sturdy.
